Annual Breakfast to Remember

Annual Breakfast to Remember

By TIR Staff

Remember • Honor • Support will hold its Patriot Day Memorial Breakfast on Sept. 11 at the Historic Coliseum.

The yearly event serves to ensure the greater Tampa Bay area does not forget the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and the local community remembers, honors, and supports the veterans, wounded warriors, first responders and the families of the fallen.

This year’s guest speaker, Vice Adm. Sean A. Pybus, will talk about 9/11 and post traumatic stress. His last position before retiring was as deputy commander, US Special Operations Command.

The event benefits three nonprofits: Stay In Step which operates the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Recovery Center and provides SCI patients with state of the art recovery. They are a veteran sup- port organization open to civilian SCI patients. Warrior2warrior helps prevent suicide with non-threatening and “stigma-free” approaches for veterans using peer mentorship, physical rehabilitation and other resources. GoldShield Foundation provides immediate financial assistance and educational support for spouses and dependent children of Florida law enforcement officers and firefighters in the Tampa Bay area killed in the line of duty.
